Join us from August 10 - August 17, 2004 in Jerusalem in a stimulating Yeshiva environment of chevruta (partner) learning and shiurim (lectures). YK2004 will take place in the comfortably air-conditioned Beit Midrash of Boys Town in the Bayit Vegan neighborhood of Jerusalem.

Experienced and enthusiastic talmidei chachamim will be paired with the participants for the entire week. And as in the previous Yarchei Kallah of 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and YK-USA-2003, a distinguished and highly learned panel of rabbinical authorities will deliver in-depth analyses of current issues in Jewish medical ethics.

The main planned topics include:
Tubal ligation (female sterilization)
Medical confidentiality
Eating on Yom Kippur - permissible amounts: natural vs. artificial feeding
Tested, experimental and metaphysical medications in Halacha
Returning from an emergency call on Shabbat

Nightly lectures will be presented on the following topics:
Pikuach nefesh on Shabbat
determining the instant of death
Assisted reproduction technology (ART)
Organ Transplants

Registration fees: $1000.00
Participants may be eligible to receive up to 50 hours of Category I continuing medical education (CME) credits. For certificate of proof from the CME office, an additional $25 charge is required.
