Join us from August 20 - August 27, 2003 in Jerusalem in a stimulating Yeshiva environment of chevruta (partner) learning and shiurim (lectures). YK2003 will take place in the comfortably air-conditioned Beit Midrash of Boys Town in the Bayit Vegan neighborhood of Jerusalem.

Experienced and enthusiastic talmidei chachamim will be paired with the participants for the entire week. And as in the previous Yarchei Kallah of 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and YK-USA-2003, a distinguished and highly learned panel of rabbinical authorities will deliver in-depth analyses of current issues in Jewish medical ethics.

The main planned topics include:
Writing on Shabbat for medical purposes when there are and are not conditions of Pikuach Nefesh
Pru Urvu - The commandment to be fruitful and multiply
Contraception in the light of Pru Urvu
Open sessions for questions and answers

Nightly lectures will be presented on the following topics:
Brain death
The premature and the anencephalic baby
Assisted reproduction technology (ART)
End of life issues
Pikuach Nefesh on Shabbat

Registration fees: $1000.00
Participants may be eligible to receive up to 50 hours of Category I continuing medical education (CME) credits. For certificate of proof from the CME office, an additional $25 charge is required.
